It was a busy Monday today as we launched into another week. In French we learned how to do the passe compose with a variety of irregular verbs, while also attending an assembly on our school's COPE dog. This presentation helped us learn about Totem, a dog who works with a child in our school. In language we learned the elements of a good speech practice, and got to put our practice into action. In math our Grade 5s learned how to construct triangles with certain angles and side measures, while our Grade 6s learned to do the same thing with various polygons. Finally, in gym, we started a unit on volleyball, focusing today on the volley.
Tonight's homework is:
-The four questions for Gr. 6 math (see below).
-Do your five speech practices! Some students have been practicing already, and every practice makes a difference.
-Lottery ticket money is due on Wednesday.
The math questions for Grade 6 are:
1. Construct a parallelogram with a side of 7cm and an angle of 80 degrees.
2. Construct a trapezoid with an angle of 40 degrees and a side of 10cm.
3. Construct a regular pentagon with all angles 108 degrees. (This one is tricky!)
4. Construct a trapezoid with an angle of 130 degrees and a side of 7cm.
See you all tomorrow!
