Today in class, we had a variety of learning activities, punctuated by the rainy weather (thankfully, we got out for one recess!) In French, we did our dictee on adjectives, and spent some time writing journals about Hallowe'en. (Students who do not celebrate Hallowe'en wrote journals on a different holiday they celebrate). In language we worked together to write a procedural text on what to do in a fire drill, and then students began working on independent procedures in their writer's notebooks. We will be doing lots of practice writing together, and I will use students' work to make guided mini-lessons on the specific areas students need to work on. I'm excited to see what sort of procedures they come up with! In math, we took up our unit tests which were returned today, and practiced our problem solving skills using some problems involving money. We will be reinforcing this further on Monday with a problem solving assignment.
This weekend, the only homework is for the Monday group to complete their reading response letters. Otherwise, have a fantastic and relaxing weekend! I look forward to seeing everyone again on Monday!
